Gears of War: E-Day is a third-person action shooter developed by The Coalition in partnership with People Can Fly and published by Xbox Game Studios. Serving as a prequel to the original Gears of War, the game takes players back fourteen years before the events of the first title to experience Emergence Day—the moment when the Locust Horde erupted from beneath the planet Sera and launched a devastating assault on humanity.
Players follow a younger Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago as they struggle to survive the first hours of the Locust invasion. Built using Unreal Engine 5, the game aims to deliver a darker and more personal story while showcasing next-generation visuals, intense combat encounters, and the brutal atmosphere that defined the original series. By returning to the franchise's roots, Gears of War: E-Day offers both longtime fans and newcomers a fresh perspective on one of gaming's most iconic wars.
